I always thought it meant the obvious post civil war etc. Maybe, just maybe they meant we’d all be hotter than Hades come summertime in the northern areas.

What part of the south is that? It’s perfect here in Tennessee

Typical southern weather. You know what I mean.

This is the nicest June day I can remember in AL...ever.
80 and dry. A month ago it was 98 or so.

I edited it to more clearly (maybe?) What I meant. The southern climate is rising into the northern areas. Specifically the PNW, why I said heatwave. Obviously not for places that are not experiencing a heatwave.

Perfect temperature at my house, but damn it was hot as hell in Snohomish and Yarrow Point where I was today.

Man, it was in the 50s and raining here today. I’m miserable. Bring the heat before I cave and put the top and doors back on.

My rule of thumb for summer relative to my location:
Seattle or Eastside: add 10 degrees (F)
North (Smokey Point, etc.): add 7 degrees (F)
I get a nice breeze from the water that’s a real life-saver.

It was a bit cooler here today. High of 108F. Supposed to drop down to 103F tomorrow which will be a nice break.

I used to consult in Arizona, always remotely save for once. It was 109, but a dry heat. I seared myself so many f’ing times, no thanks. I Irish tan on top of that. I love that about America, there's really something for everybody here. It ain't my jam, but the PNW is perfect for me.
